FROM THE HISTORY OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE NORTHERN FERGANA CHANNEL

On the basis of scientific, historical and archival sources, the author of the article shows a historical picture of the construction of the North Fergana Canal, built by the fast-moving folk method ―hashar‖ in 1940. With the building of Canal new period of the development of irrigated husbandry was began, so water of the Canal gave opportunity for the irrigating the lands of Uychi, Yangikurgan, Namangan, Turakurgan, Kosonsoy and Pap districts of Uzbekistan and Asht district of Tadjikistan. As well as the author in the article analyzes the essence of the economic activities carried out by the Soviet government on the development of irrigated agriculture in the valley.
